Endorsement for the Yellowbridge from Corporates & Third Sector Customers

that we have worked with Calor – Calor takes its corporate responsibilities very seriously

and looks to actively support the communities in which it operates. In this context, Linda O Sullivan at the

Yellowbridge has opened avenues for Calor which we would never otherwise

has accessed. Working with Linda, Calor rolled out Dementia Friendly training

across its Customer Engineering workforce on a national basis. Local training

workshops with Engineers were delivered by Linda and due to the manner in

which the sessions were conducted we had a great response from our

Engineers. As an unexpected outcome of the sessions with Engineers, the

organisation learned that many of our employees are having to deal with the

effects of dementia in their own families – this shouldn’t have been a surprise,

given the spread of this disease, but it took these meetings to highlight the

issue. Linda has been an inspiration to the people she interacts with at Calor

due to her enthusiasm, desire and creativity to help others and how she makes

it easy for our organisation to engage in activities which help communities. It’s

a pleasure for me to personally endorse Linda O Sullivan at the Yellowbridge

Working with Linda O’Sullivan of The Yellowbridge has made an

enormous impact on my confidence and abilities as a new Chief

Officer by mentoring and helping me to action the outcomes I want

to achieve for the organisation and for older people in East

Staffordshire. Linda has supported me in tendering for new

projects which has raised the profile of our organisation

enormously whilst meeting the needs of our Community.

I am always very excited to see what new projects Linda is

involved with. Her passion to address the issues surrounding

dementia has grown over the years that I have known her and I

am delighted that she has agreed to look at our services as an

organisation through The Yellow Bridge to enable us to support

people with dementia more effectively.

We will continue to return to Linda for further advice and

mentoring of our staff, volunteer and trustees to ensure we are

a dementia friendly organization at every level.

Linda had the vision to bring Carers and people who have dementia

together, in a normal setting of a café for all to enjoy a few hours

out of their routine, sharing the hours with musicians to sing along

with, exchanging life experiences over coffee and a chat and

laughing, always being the best medicine. This social model has

made life more tolerable for the Carer and cared for knowing there

is a place to be yourself. This is a potential for a national model to

create sustainable support that galvanizes communities

Yellow Bridge - a Testimonial from a Carer

I have known Linda O’Sullivan for over a year through her tireless efforts to

provide support for carers trying to cope with loved ones with dementia. Since

coming under the wing of Linda my wife Barbara has become much happier

with her lot and despite diagnosis of severe dementia she enjoys the contact

provided.

The Yellowbridge social Enterprise is a brilliant idea targeting quality

entertainment at and for people with dementia dementia and treating them

with the respect due to intelligent people who struggle to make sense of the

fog they live in

I urge support for this unique and valuable project

“Linda adds value to any organisation that is looking to develop

or improve their understanding of dementia and what it means

to their staff, customers and suppliers. Her approach is friendly

and informed, pragmatic and commercial. Her training is

focused and incredibly engaging and every delegate comes

away having learnt something which they can put in to practice.

I would recommend her highly to any business or organisation

looking to upskill their people in relation to dementia

awareness.”
